Using Visual Schedules

Visual schedules are a way of helping children to predict what is coming. It can be helped to reduce anxiety, increase co-operation and encourage independence. Visual schedules can be used to track a whole day or a single activity such as getting dressed or packing the school bag. Traditionally visual schedules are printed on paper and laminated. With the growing use of technology in our home and tablets and smart phones in most households, there are now many apps that can be used to develop these schedules quickly and easily. They also allow you to make changes without having to recreate the whole schedule again.
