How do I make an appointment?
What does an assessment include?
Prior to the assessment you will be provided with a questionnaire to help us gain more information about you or your child. An assessment session goes for up to 1 hour and can include standardised and/or non-standardised assessments (those that can be scored and those that are based on observations). Following the assessment you will receive a summary report that outlines the outcomes of the assessment including any scores obtained during the assessment and goals/recommendations for therapy.
Can I use FaHCSIA or NDIS funding?
Yes! All Abilities is an eligible provider for FaHCSIA and NDIS funding packages. Make sure you bring your approval letter or your NDIS plan to your first appointment.
Am I eligible to claim rebates through Medicare?
There are a variety of plans available through General Practitioners or Paediatricians that you or your child may be able to use to claim rebates or bulk billed sessions through. Contact your GP to discuss your child’s eligibility for these plans. If you are claiming bulk billed services please note all sessions run for 20 minutes only and you need to inform our staff when you schedule the appointment. Please bring your plan with you on the day of your appointment.
Am I eligible to claim rebates through my private health insurer?
All Abilities is an eligible service provider for most private health insurers. Check your health insurance plan to see if you are covered for Speech Pathology and Occupational therapy rebate levels. Every fund is different so we are unable to tell you how much you might expect back from the fund. We do have HICAPS services that allow you to claim the rebate on the spot and only pay the gap.
How often do we need to come to therapy?
This will depend on each individual. Some children and adults attend therapy weekly and some attend fortnightly. Some therapy is less regular as scheduled based on needs. This will be discussed during your initial assessment to determine what is best for each individual client.
How long do sessions go for?
Sessions at All Abilities are usually either 30 or 60 minutes in duration, depending on each individuals and their support needs.
How much do sessions cost?
