The National Disability Standards: Your Rights and Our Responsibilities

Each person receives a service that promotes and respects their legal and human rights and enables them to exercise choice like everyone else in the community.

All Abilities staff and therapists value and respect all the individuals we work with. We strive to promote a high quality of life where your rights are upheld and you are treated as an equal. We endeavour to provide a safe therapeutic environment (free from discrimination, abuse, neglect and exploitation) with staff and clinicians you can trust who will maximise your choice and control over your social participation and cultural inclusion. We strive to listen and take action if you are unhappy with our service.

Each person is encouraged and supported to contribute to social and civic life in their communities in the way they choose.

Our staff and clinicians will work with you around the goals you identify as being important to YOU. We will support you to make decisions about how you participate in the community and engage in work, learning, leisure and social activities. We aim to promote active and meaningful participation in activities you choose with the help of people around you who you choose to be involved in your care and support. Our staff and clinicians actively seek information about local community supports and services that we can share with you.

Each person is supported to exercise choice and control over the design and delivery of their supports and services.

All Abilities is proud to offer a variety of services to our clients and respect your rights to exercise choice and control over the services you access both within and external to our organisation. We respect and value your input regarding how we deliver services to you and strive to be as flexible as possible in service delivery. Each person has a right to determine the involvement of their family, carers and advocates in their therapy, planning and decision making processes.

When a person wants to make a complaint, the service provider will make sure the person’s views are respected, that they are informed as the complaint is dealt with, and have the opportunity to be involved in the resolution process.

Our management team has developed a comprehensive policy for managing feedback and complaints, details of which are available in your service agreement and/or consent form. Each person has the right to provide feedback and/or complaints about our service and our staff and clinicians are trained in complaint handling and understanding the cultural and linguistic needs of individuals. We will treat your complaints with utmost respect and involve you in the resolution process. Information regarding external bodies is available to each participant should you require further action.

Each person is assisted to access the supports and services they need to live the life they choose

Our staff and therapists will provide you with as much information as we can about the services we can offer you for you to live the life you want to live, as well as services you could benefit from external to our supports. We strive to provide this information in a variety of accessible ways. We continue to work with local community and mainstream organisations to provide you with links to other community supports. For more information visit our website or ask one of our staff or clinicians.

Service providers are well managed and have strong and effective governance to deliver positive outcomes for the people they support.

We ensure our staff and clinicians are trained and supported to acquire the appropriate skills and knowledge to provide an effective service to our participants. We employ only qualified and skilled clinicians and take professional development seriously to ensure we continue to provide effective evidence-based intervention. Our operational structure ensures all clinicians are supported and mentored by senior therapists, as well as administration staff being supported by senior therapists/directors.

We accept NDIS, Private Health, Medicare Rebate and Bulk Billing (with appropriate referrals) as well as privately funded. We have offices in Penrith and Windsor.

Please be advised we are currently working from a waiting list which we estimate to be a minimum of 18 months. If you would like to be added to our waiting list please fill out our contact form and we will forward you documentation.
