Medicare rebates are available for allied health services provided to children with Autism or any other Pervasive Developmental Disorder (PDD) or eligible disability. These services were introduced when the Helping Children With Autism (HCWA) and Better Start funding packages were introduced but were replaced with the National Disability Insurance Scheme. The Medicare rebates are still available.

The Better Access to Mental Health Care scheme was introduced to provide Medicare benefits for certain Allied Health mental health services including psychological therapy provided by eligible Clinical Psychologists and focused psychological strategies provided by eligible Psychologists, Occupational Therapists and Social Workers.
Medicare rebates are available for up to 10 individual allied health mental health services per calendar year in addition to 10 group psychological therapy services.

The Chronic Disease Management Plan is available for patients with a chronic or terminal medical condition and complex care needs.
